HELP!!!!
Rolling blackouts, driveway impassible, icy roads, cold, cold and more cold.
I've lived in Texas for 35 years, what the hell heck is a rolling blackout?
Only heard of them in New York or California.
GEEZ!!!
Spent most of the day without power, lot of good all that canned stuff
does ya without the means to warm it!
Where's the wood stove?
Barricaded ourselves in the house, put on lots of clothing, am at the computer (finally) wearing a long sleeved shirt, sweater, hooded coat, fingerless gloves and three pairs of socks plus house shoes and I'm still cold!
Last weekend high 70's.
I would rather be hot than cold.
Hope I make it.
At least I have quilts on the bed!!!

We've just come through a winter storm that started Mon.evening and has finally let up. We have about an inch of ice and blowing snow, but we live in Ohio.Luckily we didn't lose power this time. This weather is getting crazy all over the country. Hang in there!Do you have a gas grill you can cook on?
Oh, noes! I hate power outages. It certainly cramps one's style.
I do hope you warm up today and get rid of some that pesky ice.
If you don't have a wood stove, I'd suggest getting a kerosene heater or maybe a generator. We bought a generator when the ice hit here in 2009. My sister keeps a portable kerosene heater.I can't stand the kerosene, but it would keep you from freezing(if you can get kerosene and that's nearly impossible during times like you have there now).
Thanks everyone for the comments.
We have started a fund for the wood stove and I know I am a whiny p.... a.. baby. There are people dealing with worse situations than me. You're all north of me so I know it's worse where you are. It's just that I'm used to dealing with heat related stuff not this cold a.. c... That's why I no longer live in Lancing, Chicago or Albuquerque.
Give me a tank top, flip flops, shorts and a margarita!!!
Maybe some nachos on the side????
