Good Things

~~~SEWING~~~
Blue Moon Original Aprons
~~~Booth display at Texas Country Reporter Festival~~~

Blue Moon Soaps
Hello everyone.
It's been awhile since my last post but believe me, I've been busy!
Between work, sewing and soapmaking there hasn't been much time for anything else.
Oh, and moving into a new home... Can't forget that.

We just did The Texas Country Reporter Festival and
I sold out on most all the ladies full aprons.....
WOOHOO!!!!!
And, I've added water bottle carriers and wristlets to the
Blue Moon Original line and they also did well .
The soap and related products always do good.

I find the water bottle carrier and the sling bag
very useful on my walks with the dogs.

As to the job.....
I am now working at Cato Fashions here in Waxahachie and I love it!
I get to dress nice, meet new people and get a 20% discount to boot.
Plus my manager has no problem working with my show schedule.
Tres Bien!

Well, my sewing machines are calling,
so I'll say Bonjour for now.
Till next time, enjoy life.

Good Day At The Market

Mucho Soap!
So....

We were finally able to get back to the Waxahachie Farmer's Market
after two weekends of rain outs.
Not complaining... Just saying!

We're reaching a whole new demographic at this venue,
not just the handmade craft seekers. Actual customers that want
the more natural alternative to the store bought soaps and bath products.
Bon...

We've only been at this location a few months but we are
experiencing a repeat customer base here as well,
and as a bonus we're also getting more,
my sister, mother, friend told me about your products, referrals.
How cool is that?
You know you have a good product when you get referrals!
So I'm totally happy/thrilled/grateful about this aspect of our venture!
Eight years of serious dedication is starting to pay off.

On another note...

Since I am currently not employed/ punching anyone else's clock,
I've had more time to create in other ways.
I do love to sew, bead, repurpose, imagine...

Mini bag
Today I sold two aprons and a mini bag.
They are on their way to Japan!
Thank you lovely Japanese ladies,
who oo-ed and awed over my sewn creations.
I am so grateful!

Apron
The other apron didn't get photo-ed, that I can find, but thank you Sue
for the fabric/valance on this one!

Grilling tomorrow, still too hot for inside cooking.
50 cents each for large, colored bell peppers and 50 cents for a 12 ounce tomato,
$3.oo for the sweetest cantaloupe.
Still working through that half, grass fed cow!

Till next time, be grateful,
Bonjour

Busy Little Bee, DIY Aprons

SO.....

Found these lovelies at my local thrifty shop and just had to have them!
One 23" table cloth, six 9 ½”  napkins and six 6" coasters.
All for $1.00, all in good shape. WOW!
I was thinking of pinning them all together to sell but I started thinking!
The little ones look like pockets, or doll clothes, or clothing embellishment....

So I started with a pocket.
I had this dusty rose color, toile fabric in my stash and decided to make an apron.
At one point, dusty rose color, toile fabric was used to make my bathroom curtains.
I'm telling you, I definitely recycle fabric.

This apron is flat across the waist with no gathers.
Finished size is 22 x 22 with the ties being long enough to wrap
around and tie in the front.

I made a pocket out of the toile fabric, then sewed the coaster onto that.

I sewed the pocket onto the front of the apron in a
diamond shape and left it open on the outer side.

This is a reversible apron so I used a doily to embellish the other sides' pocket.
Added this cute, pink, pearlescent button from my button stash,
some lace and pink ribbon.
Wish I had someone here to take a picture of me wearing it,
the hanger photos don't do it justice!

This apron is gathered at the waist, also reversible.

I hope to sell these at the market tomorrow.

Wish me luck!

Till next time,
Bonjour
